To improve visibility into parking availability at its Downtown Campus, BCIT partnered with HH Angus to deploy ARMS using existing Axis security infrastructure, onboard vehicle-counting analytics, and real-time visualization displays. The solution delivered accurate parking occupancy data with minimal infrastructure requirements, improved the parking experience for campus users, and established a scalable platform that can be expanded to additional parking facilities across BCIT's broader campus portfolio.

 
 
 

The Challenge

BCIT required a simple, cost-effective solution to provide students, staff, and visitors with real-time visibility into parking availability at its Downtown Campus (DTC).

The institution needed a lightweight system capable of accurately tracking available parking spaces within its above-ground parking facility while minimizing implementation complexity, infrastructure requirements, and operational overhead.

The Solution

HH Angus deployed the Angus Remote Management System (ARMS) to provide real-time parking occupancy monitoring and visualization.

The implementation included:

  • Integration with an Axis security camera platform
  • Onboard camera analytics for vehicle counting
  • Real-time parking availability dashboards
  • Integration with an iGotcha Media display screen for occupant-facing visualization
  • Leveraging of BCIT's existing Axis security ecosystem, simplifying hardware approval, reducing deployment complexity, and accelerating implementation.

Working closely with BCIT's IT team and installation contractors, HH Angus configured the platform to provide accurate vehicle counts and real-time parking availability information with minimal infrastructure requirements.
