To better understand how patrons interacted with library spaces, services, and collections, HH Angus deployed ARMS using 3D stereoptic occupancy sensors integrated with existing security analytics. The solution provided Arapahoe Libraries with detailed occupancy, movement, and dwell-time analytics across key library zones, enabling data-driven decisions regarding collection placement, service delivery, and space planning. The Challenge

Arapahoe Libraries sought to better understand how patrons were interacting with spaces, services, and collections within its Smoky Hill Library branch.

While traditional circulation and visitor counts provided a high-level view of library activity, staff lacked detailed insight into how patrons were utilizing specific areas within the library, including:

  • Service and help desks
  • Children's areas
  • Teen spaces
  • Collection areas
  • Quiet study zones
  • Other key library amenities and services

The Solution

HH Angus deployed the Angus Remote Management System (ARMS) using 3D stereoptic occupancy sensors and existing security infrastructure to provide detailed patron analytics throughout the library.

The implementation included:

  • Deployment of 3D stereoptic occupancy sensors in key library zones
  • Integration with existing security camera analytics
  • Real-time and historical occupancy analytics
  • Dwell-time analysis for specific library areas and services
  • Interactive dashboards and visualization tools

The solution enabled the library to measure occupancy levels, visitor movement patterns, and dwell times across various spaces while maintaining patron privacy.

By combining occupancy sensor data with existing analytics sources, ARMS provided a comprehensive view of how patrons interacted with library services, collections, and physical spaces.
